The Gaskell FIRESTARTER is inspired by a guitar that is considered by many to be "the original Rock guitar." In the 47 years this guitar has been in existence, it has never been produced in left hand.
Re-designed in Australia, the Firestarter is close to the original but is not a clone. The original is made of mahogany which can be very heavy. Heavy guitars are something the modern guitarist doesn't care for. In keeping with this, in 2010 we changed ours from mahogany to Japanese Ash which is just as good as mahogany but is lighter and therefore doesn't weigh you down by the end of the gig. We have retained the reverse headstock of the original but not the banjo tuners which are renowned to break. This guitar is not made by CNC. Due to the 3-part body and overall complexity of construction this guitar is almost entirely hand made. Despite the required extra time, effort, and higher costs to make one of these, we don't reflect this greatly in the price. Margins may be thin on this one, but left handed guitarists get the guitar of their dreams.
Lefty guitarists have never had this opportunity to own and play a guitar like this before ... until now.
