The Gaskell FIRESTARTER is inspired by a guitar that many consider to be "the original Rock guitar." In the 47 years this guitar has been in existence, it has never been available as a production left handed guitar, and never with the "reverse body" option! Lefties could only ever dream about getting a guitar like this ... until now.
Redesigned in Australia, the Firestarter has the same 3-piece, through-body construction and reverse headstock as the original although we do not use the orginal banjo tuners which are renowned to break. Instead of mini humbuckers, we use full-size, open-coil Wilkinson humbuckers which makes the guitar better suited for a lot more styles of music. In addition to rhythm and lead the Firestarter is also perfect for slide guitar.
Due to the difficulty of making the 3-part body and overall complexity of construction this guitar is almost entirely hand made at the factory, yet we have chosen not to use this as an excuse to charge an excessive price. The Firestarter is suitable for beginners, semi-professionals and even pro users. Like all Gaskell guitars it can be further customized.
If you want a guitar that is more "Rock" than anything else, then you have to play a Firebird style guitar - and for lefties that is the Gaskell Firestarter!
