AC275 Internal Design |
We start with hand-selected mahogany for the body and neck. All of our neck, body and fingerboard woods undergo a long conditioning process in our de-humidification chambers to remove any stress in the wood and prevent future warping or twisting. The body is carved out for maximum resonance while maintaining stability, and the neck-through designed mahogany neck runs the entire length of the instrument for increased sustain and strength. The mahogany construction produces warm tones, perfect for a semi-hollow guitar. The AC275 is light and comfortable to play - it weighs just 5.25 pounds, and the body measures 14" wide, and is 1.87" thick. A beautiful AAA Engleman spruce top is standard, which is higher quality than Sitka spruce tops used on many guitars by other manufacturers. You may also choose a highly figured AAAA flamed maple top, AAAA quilted maple top, flamed koa top or California Claro walnut top. Carvin offers a huge assortment of finishes, which is applied to the entire body, neck and the headstock. You can also choose one of our exclusive deep triple-step finishes in conjunction with a flamed or quilted top, which creates an almost 3-dimensional depth to the figure of the top. For a more traditional acoustic look, you can add body binding.

Neck-Through Design |
The AC275 features a standard 25" scale ebony fingerboard with white pearl dot inlays, a 12" radius and 24 medium-jumbo nickel frets. You can choose from a wide assortment of neck options, including rosewood, maple or birdseye maple fingerboards; dot, diamond or block inlays in mother-of-pearl or genuine abalone; and fingerboard radii of 10" or 14". Carvin also offers a number of fretwire options, including jumbo, low-wide and stainless steel. Carvin's "Rapid Play" low action neck assures effortless playability throughout the entire fingerboard, while the smooth neck heel allows easy access all the way up to the 24th fret. The fully-adjustable dual action truss rod allows you to set the action exactly the way you want it.

Ebony Acoustic Bridge |
The standard ebony acoustic bridge has a TUSQ saddle for smooth sustain and clear open notes. The nut is graphite, which further contributes to the sustain of the instrument. Sperzel™ locking tuners ensure your AC275 will stay in tune, no matter what your playing style is. Standard hardware is chrome, with gold or black optional. The AC275 has an LR Baggs ribbon-acoustic pickup. This pickup is less than 1/32" thick and contains a film sensor laminated between layers of Kapton and then laser-trimmed to its final form. It's reliable and innovative, with a sensor that is responsive to vibration but not to pressure on the pickup itself. This minimizes the sterile sound that is characteristic of most pressure-sensitive under-saddle pickups, because as the guitar top moves with the vibrations of the strings, so does the pickup, naturally reflecting the actual sound and dynamics of the AC275.
